The Wildcats (8-0) led 39-30 after three quarters before Ka Makani (5-3) mounted a late charge and got within a point with less than a minute remaining.

Jovan Crnic led HPA with 20 points, and Kama DeSilva added 11.

Kamehameha-Hawaii 67, Pahoa 54: Senior guard Shaun Kagawa scored 25 points, and the host Warriors overcame Nick Fisher’s 31-point performance to moved into a second-place tie with Waiakea in the BIIF East Hawaii Division I standings.

Ilikai Calip added 16 points, and La’a Manliguis chipped in 12 for Kamehameha (7-3).

The Division II Daggers dropped to 5-5.

Keaau 47, Ka‘u 38: Davin Alviento led all scorers with 17 points, and teammate Nick Pagtama added 11 points as the Cougars improved to 6-4.

Ka‘u dropped to 2-7 despite 10 points by Gregory Javar. In the JV game, Kirk Imai tallied 11 points to lead Keaau to a 39-36 victory. Shayden Carriba-Agustin scored ll points for the Trojans.
